Why I created
Kootenay Jane

First, thank you for watching, subscribing, liking, and sharing my adventures. Your support means more than you know.

I created Kootenay Jane because I believe adventure is meant to be shared.

After living in and travelling to several places across Canada, I chose the Kootenays as my home because, in my opinion, it's the most beautiful place in the country. Every mountain pass, hiking trail, backroad, lake, and small community has a story worth sharing.

For the past 20 years the Kootenays of British Columbia is the place I have been lucky to live, adventure and explore.

My goal is to inspire others to get outside and explore, whether that's here in British Columbia, elsewhere in Canada, or around the world as I continue to travel.

I also recognize that not everyone has the opportunity to experience these places in person. Whether it's because of health challenges, financial limitations, age, or other barriers, I hope my videos allow you to experience some of these incredible places through the screen.

If my adventures inspire you to visit somewhere new, revisit a favourite place, or simply enjoy the beauty of nature from home, then I've accomplished exactly what I set out to do.

Adventure is meant to be shared.

SKIING/HIKING/LAKE LIFE / EVERYDAY ADVENTURE / KOOTENAY STORIES / FINDING STRENGTH / MOTORCYCLING / RECLAIMING THE WILD / GROUNDED LIVING/ HEALING

THE RHYTHM OF THE ROAD

There’s a specific kind of healing that happens when you’re leaning into a curve on a mountain pass. On two wheels, I found a way to outrun the worry and reconnect with the grounded strength I thought I’d lost.

SILENCE IN THE POWDER

Winter in the Kootenays is where I found my breath again. Carving deep powder isn't about chasing adrenaline; it’s about the healing silence and the strength you find when the world is covered in white.

TRACING THE RIDGELINE

The ridgelines here keep me honest. I hike to remind myself that we are capable of hard things, and that every woman deserves to look out from a peak and feel like she’s exactly where she belongs.

THE QUIET POWER OF NATURE

Adventure isn’t about being the fastest or the first; it’s about the clarity found in the silence of the woods. It’s about the community of women who show up for each other, one step at a time.

MENDING THE SPIRIT

My journey started with a simple need to heal in the fresh air. Today, I write these stories to empower women like us to reclaim their strength in the local outdoors.

THE JOY OF THE UNEXPECTED

Nature has a way of grounding you. Whether on a motorcycle or in hiking boots, these stories are an invitation to rediscover everyday magic in our local mountains.
